Earlier this year, Carter was in need of a cranial helmet that would help remold the plates in her skull and treat torticollis, a condition which has restricted her neck muscles to rotate and tilt to one only side. Without being properly treated, torticollis could have impacted Carter’s motor development and cause eye alignment concerns that may have affected her vision. Unfortunately, her request for a helmet was denied by insurance.
At five months old, Carter’s family only had a few months to find a long term solution as her skull would be finished molding by her first birthday.
Understanding the time sensitive nature of Carter’s request, we were able to gift Carter her cranial helmet almost immediately. Now, Carter is able to receive the treatment she needs, allowing her to grow into the strong and kind girl we know she’ll be!
