At seven months old, Kevin received a cranial helmet to correct the flattening shape of his head. To get the helmet, his family used a huge amount of their savings and was told they’d be considered for partial to full reimbursement by their insurance. Unfortunately, they were denied.

At the same time, an ultrasound discovered excess fluid in Kevin’s skull  that required further evaluation, which was another unanticipated cost. While the helmet was helping his head shape, it was unknown if this new condition would affect his progress, and if he would need further treatment down the line. The anticipation of the unknown was not only a financial burden, but incredibly emotionally stressful. An experience a new parent should never have to endure. 

We’re pleased to report a year later not only were we able to help Kevin and his family, and he is stronger, healthier and happier than ever!
