Michael's Story
At three years old, Michael was making great strides using an Augmented Alternative Communication (AAC) device during his weekly speech and occupational therapy sessions with his providers, and it was evident that in order for him to truly advance at home and in daily life, he needed a device at home as well. Not having an AAC device at home was not only deterring his language skills, but becoming frustrating emotionally as well as he had difficulty expressing what he needed or what he was feeling.
Ultimately, like everyone, Michael wanted the ability to feel understood. And that’s exactly what he deserved. Soon after learning about Michael and his family’s challenges, we’re able to gift Michael an AAC device and programming that would help him thrive. We are immensely proud of Michael, and honored to call him a part of our Mariah’s Miracle family!
